Troubleshooting

Before calling service check the following & Trouble shooting guide supplied on the following page.

Symptoms: Spotting / filming / poor cleaning results

Possible Causes:

  1. Insufficient amount of detergent.
  2. Hard water.
  3. Spray arms need cleaning.
  4. Improper loading.
  5. Insufficient water fill.
  6. Filter system needs cleaning.
  7. Oversudsing – Prewashing with a liquid dishwashing detergent.

Solutions:

  1. Increase the amount of detergent, especially when washing full loads, or in hard water.
  2. Increase water softener dosage. Use additional detergent, increase rinse agent dosage.
  3. Check the nozzle holes in the spray arms. They may be blocked with a soil particle. Check and clean them periodically.
  4. Follow instructions for use for proper loading procedures. Place dishes so water spray reaches all soiled surfaces. Do not overcrowd the baskets since this will block the water spray.
  5. Check mains water pressure.
  6. Remove any accumulated or deposited foods. Check and clean them periodically.
  7. Rinse items thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher to remove dishwashing detergent.

Symptoms: Small particles (food or detergent) left on items

Possible Causes:

  1. Water not reaching surfaces, dishwasher overcrowded.
  2. Insufficient water fill.
  3. Powder detergent stored too long or under adverse conditions
  4. Rinse aid supply depleted.

Solutions:

  1. Check to be sure water action is not blocked by dishes. Check filter system for accumulated or deposited food or detergent. Load dishwasher correctly. Keep filter system clean.
  2. Check mains water pressure
  3. Use powder detergent within one to two months after purchase. Open one box at a time. Always close pouring spout after each use. Store in a cool, dry place.
  4. Add rinse aid to the dispenser.

Symptoms: Pitting of stainless steel items

Possible Causes: Prolonged contact with salty or highly acidic foods or with undissolved or highly concentrated detergent.

Solutions: Remove spots with silver polish. Rewash. Wash soon after use, or pre-wash items if they will not be washed right away. Do not overload cutlery basket. Avoid spilling or pouring detergent directly on flatware. Make sure dispenser cup is properly closed.

Symptoms: Dishes not dry

Possible Causes:

  1. Improper loading.
  2. Rinse aid supply depleted.

Solutions:

  1. Load so that all items are properly tilted for good drainage. Avoid nesting of dishes and/or silverware.
  2. Add liquid rinse aid.

Symptoms: Scratches on glassware

Possible Causes: A water or chemical reaction with some glassware. Usually caused by some combination of soft or softened water and alkaline washing solutions reacting with the glassware. Can be accelerated by poor rinsing, overloading and excessive temperature.

Solutions:

  1. The condition may not always be preventable. To minimize the possibility of etching, use minimum amount of detergent.
  2. Use of the appropriate programme.
  3. Use of a rinse aid may also help.

  4. Improper loading.
  5. Old detergent.

Solutions:

  1. Make sure dispenser is dry before adding powderdetergent. Start dishwasher immediately.
  2. Start dishwasher soon after adding gel detergent. Do not allow detergent to dry out in dispenser.
  3. Do not overfill. Cover should close tightly. Checkcover for fit.
  4. Do not place large items in front of dispenser.
